

The Cantabrian defender signs for Villarreal CF for the next four seasons
Villarreal CF and RCD Espanyol have come to a transfer agreement for Álvaro González, who will wear yellow for the next four seasons. The powerful player strengthens Fran Escribá’s defence, as Álvaro is a centre back who is good in the air, quick to get to and intercept the ball and has great ball distribution from the back.
Álvaro González Soberón (08/01/1990, Potes) comes to the Submarine from RCD Espanyol, where he was captain and had played the full 90 minutes in the first two LaLiga matches. Álvaro started his professional career at Racing de Santander (38 matches, 1 goal) and in 2012 he signed for Real Zaragoza (77 matches, 2 goals). After two seasons at the Aragonese side, Álvaro signed for RCD Espanyol in the 2014/15 season, for whom he play in 83 matches and scored 2 goals.
