The Endavant Província initiative, promoted by Villarreal CF through the Foundation, was created with the aim of promoting tourism in the province of Castellón. The Yellow Submarine, firmly committed to its land, joins forces and collaborates to boost the province’s economic and cultural activity – one of the main pillars of the local economy – by showcasing its gastronomy, products, events and most representative destinations.
Through this project, Villarreal CF has promoted tourism in a wide range of cities and towns, taking advantage of matches held at the Estadio de la Cerámica. In this way, the club has become an ambassador for the province in the top tier of Spanish football, further broadening its horizons thanks to the presence of international supporters.
'Juegos Castellonenses'
Since the 2023/24 season, the Submarine has also joined the collaboration with the ‘Juegos Castellonenses’, a provincial sports and recreational competition for older adults that takes place in more than twenty municipalities across the province of Castellón.
Through this large-scale event, Villarreal CF, in collaboration with organiser Patagonia Esports, promotes healthy living among older adults in the province, while also highlighting the attractions of the towns that host this unique competition.
Tourism and presence across the municipalities of Castellón
In previous seasons, the club offered a ticket exchange initiative so that residents of each town could enjoy Villarreal matches live at the Estadio de la Cerámica. In addition, local authorities from each municipality took part in the official directors’ lunch, where typical local products prepared by a local restaurateur were served. On these occasions, the mayor was a guest of honour and took pride of place in the directors’ box alongside the presidents of both clubs. As a grand finale, the town’s municipal band also formed part of the matchday celebration, performing several pieces before kick-off and at half-time on the pitch at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
During the pandemic, and despite health restrictions, Villarreal CF did not interrupt the spirit or activity of this province-wide initiative. The Yellow Submarine reinvented itself and embraced an audiovisual format with the production of the documentary series Una Província Única. In each episode, the club, through the eyes of Marcos Senna, showcased the tourist, cultural and gastronomic attractions of towns across the province of Castellón. Likewise, following the UEFA Europa League triumph, the club organised a tour around the province, taking the trophy to 43 municipalities in Castellón. A total of 20,000 people attended the different stops in their respective towns to have their photo taken.
In the centenary year, the club wanted to celebrate its 100th anniversary with the entire province. To do so, it staged the Endavant 3v3 Cup, bringing the fun of a children’s football tournament to twelve municipalities across the province.
