Villarreal CF have come to a transfer agreement with Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield for midfielder Santiago Cáseres, who will wear yellow for the next five seasons (until June 2023). The young Argentinean midfielder of 21 years of age will be officially presented this Tuesday at 12:30pm in the press room at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) in an event directed towards the media. His first contact with his new fans will be that evening in the preseason friendly match against Hércules CF at the Mini Estadi (7pm CEST).
Santiago Cáseres (25/02/1997, Parque Leloir, Argentina) was developed as a player at Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield and made his debut for the club’s first team on 18th March 2017 against Newell's Old Boys. From then on he was a regular in the starting lineup and played a total of 35 matches.
Cáseres is a pure, intense midfielder, with great decision making when on the ball. His main position is defensive midfield, from where he gets back and helps out in defence and is a constant support for his teammates in the middle. Without a doubt, he is one of the most promising young Argentinean footballers and a great reinforcement for the Yellow Submarine.
