Santi Cazorla comes back home. The football player will join Villarreal’s first team for preseason on 9th July with the aim of recovering from the achilles tendon surgery he underwent on 28th November with Doctor Mikel Sánchez.
Santi Cazorla, a former #VillarrealAcademy player, made his debut with the first team on 30th November against RC Deportivo de la Coruña at the Riazor Stadium. Since then, Santi Cazorla has played a total of 241 games, scoring 34 goals and tallying 35 assists.
At the age of 33, the talented midfielder has 78 caps for Spain. With the Spanish national team, Cazorla played in the 2014 World Cup, the 2008 and 2012 European Championships (both of which Spain won with Cazorla as a key player for the team), and the 2009 and 2013 Confederations Cup. Throughout his professional career, Santi Cazorla has played for several teams including: Villarreal CF, Recreativo de Huelva, Málaga CF and Arsenal FC, where he has played for the last six seasons.
