Villarreal player, Tomas Pina, asserts his first year in the submarine has been very positive, although the adaptation was not easy: "I value my contribution to the team as very positive, it has been a great first year. I played a lot and this aspect is very important to me. At the beginning it was a little bit hard to adapt to the pace of the team and the way of playing. But little by little I was much more confident and I think I proved it.
The midfielder stressed that Villarreal's season has been admirable and that the team wanted to finish the year with positive sensations: "The club has accomplished great things this year. In addition, being sixth in the table and winning in Anoeta has been the perfect ending. We were having irregular performances in the second half of the season and we wanted to change that dynamic."
The player referred also to its position on the pitch compared to other seasons: "During many years I had played as a defensive midfielder, but I can also act as a playmaker. Here the level is extremely high and it is obvious that there have been games where I felt more confortable than others. Gradually, I gained confidence and that has given me the possibility to keep growing in the team. "
Finally, the midfielder has acknowledged that the expectation for next year will be greater, "We know that fans will demand more from us. This season the team came from the second division and everything looked prudent, calmer. Now we are in Europa League, so we are aware of the fact that the coming year will be more demanding."
