Villarreal's striker, Jonathan Pereira, who was the man of the match last weekend and the scorer of the first goal, spoke today about how, after the incredible support that the 10,000 fans showed, the players feel now more than ever that close link they have to their supporters. We all have one common goal, and that is to win against Almeria. "We will have the home advantage, thank to all our supporters cheering us on from the stands. Their input is incredibly important. They have already proved their worth time and time again, but they really showed their support this week with how quickly the tickets for El Madrigal sold out. They seem even more excited than when we played in the Champions League or The UEFA Europa League and for this we are truly grateful. It feels like everyone; the players and the fans, are really giving this weekend everything they've got, and I hope that together we will realise our dream of promotion this weekend. We have to win!"
Talking about last weekend, Pereira said that the game in the Mini Stadium in Barcelona, will go down in history as one of the most incredible shows of support he has seen. "When we arrived at the stadium we were absolutely blown away by the scenes. When you consider that Vila-real only has 50,000 inhabitants, it was amazing to see 10,000 of them, outside the stadium, cheering us into the game. The fact that they travelled all the way to Barcelona to support us, was just an amazing feeling for us, and we know that this weekend the support will be even greater. We can not thank our fans enough, it really is so important to have our fans behind us all the way."
