Villarreal midfielder, Manu Trigueros, believes that the Submarine will have a good chance on Sunday against Cordoba (New Arcangel Stadium, airing live on Teledeporte at 9 p.m) to show that it is a competitive team both at home and aboad.
"Since Santander we have not won away from home and it´s our turn. It is time to react and regain victory because the team needs it," said Manu." Now we are only focused on the next game, this is a match in which anything can happen. Now we all have to think only of the game against Córdoba and not look beyond."
Nonetheless, the native born Toledan is well aware that the "white and greens" willl make it very difficult, so the Submarine is determined to give it their all.
"It's definitely going to be a tough game; the Córdoba is a direct rival and therefore are three important points for both teams," said Manu. "Going with the mentality to win there no matter the circumstances would increase our morale and give the squad a second chance."
As for his return to the team, Manu said that the break has been beneficial in these last days, since accumulating many minutes from the start of the season.
"The other day I left the game for an injured teammate and had to leave the game completely, but I felt good and I think I could help the team," said Manu.
"The rest was much needed, and I was able to recover mentally and physically. I've played a lot of games, and this break has allowed me to finish this season at my best, said Manu. "The idea of not having as much play time is fine with me; I'm adjusting to it and working harder to get back on the field and convince the technical team when I am ready."
Regarding his role with the new coach, the player said he's gradually adapting to the demands of Marcelino. "Slowly I'm adapting more and more to what the coach wants. It's true that I am a player who usually plays inside rather than outside, as a wingman. But with hard work and training, I will adapt to what the coach wants," said Manu. "Right now with Cani's injury, there is a chance to play and I'm working to see if I can have that opportunity."
