Villarreal's former head coach showed his gratitude towards the Yellow institution during his last press conference as the Submarine's commander. During his appearance, the Salamanca native wanted to show publicly his gratitude to all those who are part of the project, noting that he will be eternally grateful to the club. "I want you to know that my contract was terminated yesterday and I wanted to say goodbye to everyone. I want to thank the team for its commitment, my assistants coaching staff and all those who have worked with me during my time in this project. I especially want to thank the fans who have been with the team and the managers who gave me the opportunity to lead this great team. I leave and will start another cycle, but I do this with the idea that I'm not closing the club's door behind me."
The trainer is convinced that the team will achieve its goal. "The truth is that in this sport you can win, lose or draw, but what we have tried to do our job as professional as possible at all times. It was a tough call to make during this summer, it was not easy to put me in charge and for that I am and will always be grateful to the President and his son for having opted for me. I'm sure that Villarreal will be back in the first division next season and I leave with that idea and that feeling." he stated.
