Villarreal's Vice President, José Manuel Llaneza, and the Rector of the Universitat Jaime I de Castelló, Vicent Climent, signed a new collaboration agreement last week in order to enhance the relationship between the Submarine and the Academic Institution. The agreement was formalized in the University's Press room and both institutions will collaborate to promote sport and among the university community and the local society of Castellón. Research activities related to culture and sports will also be empowered by the agreement.
During his speech, Mr. Llaneza explained that our club was looking forward to an agreement that could benefit both parties. "We're living a difficult moment but we believe we have to push hard to get this project done. We have always had a very good relationship with the UJI and we consider now is the time to formalize it. We look forward to a great and long agreement".
On his side, Mr. Vicent Climent highlighted the importance of having two of the most relevant institutions in the province trying to maintain an even closer relationship. "For the UJI is a very big step, not only for the economical support with the 10,000 euros scholarships Villarreal CF will be granting, but for the common benefits. I believe both UJI and Villarreal CF are top and our fellow citizens are proud of both institutions due to their values and management. We hope we can keep growing together".
The agreement includes professional internships, training seminars, research and a scholarship program that will grant 10,000 euros to sportsmen students of the UJI by the Yellow club. The agreement will also include the creation of a radio program in Ràdio Vox UJI that will be conducted by university members and the common use of the facilities both institutions have.
