Argentinian Fernando Cavenaghi appeared at the Sports City's Press Room earlier today to share his impressions on the Submarine's season début. "Our start has been spectacular in my opinion. I think we deserved to win most of the matches and we have been able to react when the score required so. The team is very strong. To score and to know your defense is backing you up is key to any team. You have to take in consideration how the other teams are playing against us, with two lines of four players, which makes creative game very complicated. We have to keep developing and improving our game but this comes with the experience of playing together".
Regarding his good personal moment –he has scored three goals in la Liga Adelante-, Fernando believes hard work usually gets you a good reward. "I knew that with the chances I was having, the ball had to get in sometime. During the King's Cup the ball didn't get in for this or that reason but things can't always go wrong. I celebrated the goal a lot because I needed it. Strikers live on goals and of course you must celebrate them when you score them".
Cavenaghi believes the team should not take in consideration the last results of our upcoming rival, UD Las Palmas (Saturday, 6 pm Spanish time GMT+1, Estadio de Gran Canaria). The Submarine received the visit of Guadalajara under similar conditions and the match was extremely hard. Playing against Villarreal is a big motivation for everyone and they will try to perform well in front of their crowd. They also need the points".
