Villarreal manager Javi Calleja appeared in front of the press to analyse the upcoming match with RCD Espanyol (Sunday, 4pm CET). The Yellows boss warned of the difficulty of facing the Catalan side, who have made a number of changes in recent weeks: "It seems that RCD Espanyol have hope once more, you see them focused on getting out of this situation. They put in a great performance against FC Barcelona, they're through to the next round of the Copa del Rey and they've signed Raúl de Tomás. Abelardo's teams are very solids. It's hard to create chances against them and they often make the most of their opponents' mistakes."
The Yellows boss recognised that in this second half of the season, the team needs to improve its performances against sides towards the bottom of the table: "The players are aware of what happened to us in the first half of the season against teams lower down the table, and if we want to reach our objectives, we can't drop points in games like Sunday's."
Regarding the large amount of away fans heading to the Estadio de la Cerámica, Calleja has called on the Yellows fans to get behind the team: "There are more of us, there's 18,000 of us and we need to create a winning environment. We know we're into the second half of the season, we're in a position where we can dream of Europe. Reaching that won't only come from the players, the management, or the coaching staff. It's something that we do between all of us, with the fans too, and now we need them more then ever."
