Villarreal CF has recognised the Spanish Basketball Federation the 2019 Endavant Award for Sporting Merit at the Endavant Esports Gala which took place this Wednesday at the Paranimf at the Jaume I University (Universidad Jaume I).
Fernando Romay, attended the ceremony as ambassador for the federation, as did world champion and Valencia Basket player Quino Colom and Spain physio Jordan Sospedra. Representing the women's team was Elisa Aguilar, former basketball player and the federation's competition director.
The Spanish Basketball Federation received the prize and recognition from Villarreal CF from the Diputación de Castellón president José Pascual Martí.
The Spanish Basketball Federation has had the most successful year in its history. The men's national team won the World Cup in China after beating Argentina in the final, while the women's national team won the European Championships after beating France in the final in Belgrade.
The joy and success at youth level, where five medals including World Cups and European Championships were won, rounded off an excellent 2019, which will be one of the most successful years ever in Spanish basketball.
