Villarreal CF's latest signing Vicente Iborra underlined in his official presentation that he was very excited with the next stage of his career back in Spain after his spell in the Premier League: "I wanted to thank the club for the trust they have put in me, which was been very important from the first moments. I am proud to be in a Valencian club. Now I will try and do my best to help us achieve our objectives."
Iborra recognised that the transfer was not a simple one: "After a few complicated days, it finally became reality. Negotiations were difficult. There were obstacles, but that is to be expected. There are a number of parties, and each party wants what is best for them. The most important thing is that it happened. The push we all had to give will definitely be worth it."
The Valencian midfielder, who will wear the No.10 shirt, is excited to wear Villarreal's colours: "The important thing is that I am ready for action. Now it's the gaffer who decides. I'm ready. I've seen a good atmosphere in the dressing room, there was a warm welcome, which I appreciate. What I want is to repay them with my work on the pitch. All of us need to be heading in the same direction."
Iborra called for unity: "I'm not going to win matches on my own. We are going to get wins all of us together. The only thing I can promise is commitment and hard work. I am sure that the results will come and the team will head higher up the table. We have a lot of weapons in our armoury. I've seen Villarreal matches, to get out of situations like the one we're in, you need spirit and this team has it. We all know what we're playing for."
The new Yellow Submarine player already worked with manager Luis García at Levante. "Knowing Luis García is another positive. He knows me and I know what he wants. What I need to do is work so the group can be the beneficiary. What I want to do is play, I don't mind where. I will try and fit in as quick as possible," concluded Iborra.
Roig Negueroles: “He will definitely bring us a lot on the pitch”
The man responsible of welcome Iborra was Villarreal CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles, who underlined the hard work put in by all parties to get him here: "The contract wasn't easy for us to complete. The club and the player had to put on a bit of pressure. Due to the injuries we have suffered in this position, we believed this signing was necessary. Vicente was the most important option and we are convinced that he will bring us a lot."
