Villarreal FC and Jon Dahl Tomasson have reached an agreement for the cancellation of the striker’s contract that was due to run until June 2009.

The Danish international arrived on loan from VfB Stuttgart in January 2007 before being signed by the club at the end of the season. In his time at the club he donned the Yellow jersey on 48 occasions with six automatic starts in La Liga, eight in the UEFA Cup and four in the Kings Cup, scoring a total of 12 goals,(seven in La Liga and five in the UEFA Cup).

Villarreal would like to wish Tomasson the very best of luck for his future and take this opportunity of thanking him for the professionalism shown by him at all times when defending the ‘amarillo’ cause.
