In 2014 Villarreal CF added the fútbol sala (indoor football) team ‘Auto-Real Moldeazul Villarreal CF’ to its programme. The team wears the club’s official name –wearing two badges on their kits- and also plays dressed in all yellow. It is an economic, social and sporting collaboration, the same as the club maintains with the rest of the entities it sponsors in the province.
The club was founded in Vila-real in 1987, starting its journey in the local league and getting promoted from league to league successively until making it to the Primera Nacional A (First National A division), currently competing in the Tercera División Nacional (Third National Division). Nowadays the fútbol sala team is the head of managing the 'Escuela Deportiva Municipal' (Municipal Sports School) and the school’s indoor football leagues, dealing with the promotion and circulating of this sport, as well as putting on training courses for monitors and other campaigns in collaboration with the 'Servei Municipal d’Esports del Ajuntament de Vila-real' (Vila-real City Council’s Municipal Sports Service).
